WHERE IN THE HELL DID THE HIP HOP GO?

I've been neglecting my hip hop duties lately. Haven't even slowed too much up these days. I mix as the mood hits me, I don't feel guilty (well maybe a little.)

This is what I consider a hip hop mix. It doesn't matter that only 5 of the nine songs are truly rap songs. It's immaterial that it starts with swirly slow tempo house and has a Black Sabbath dub remix and rare groove break.

If I was paid to spin a hip hop set in a club it would sound like this. That's probably why I'm not invited to do so that much.

Still... this mix captures my nerdy fanboy status when it comes to Screw and Dub. I did my best to weave a sonic tapestry - using dubs to enhance certain sounds along the journey. I have to admit, I'm getting quite good at it. The simple template of the hip hop beat always allows for greater experimentation in the subtleties of dubdom.

Nattymari does not condone drug use... but my West Coast friends should light up the stickiest dankest headies they can muster up (and hope it kicks in by the two little phasers in the second song's chorus.)

More info in comments.
