Ending a series that I've really enjoyed. There's actually a little detritus coming next... but I have to move on. This one travels through the realms of dub... from power electronics all the way back to the heartbeat.
This series has channeled some really cathartic and creative energy. I have tapped into some things that have been buzzing in my warped mind forever. Oddly enough, URODI, the weakest mix was a real turning point. Funny how that works. It freed some rigid notions I had been scripting in my usually freeform brain.
This mix frees up some prejudices I hold in my quest for perfectly mapping my thought process through mixage. Two tracks suffer from pressing defects that sound as striking as a scar looks on a beautiful face. One is an old rare tape rip (thanks PHOENIX HAIRPINS once again) and the other is glitched ridden joy with a random skip effect I personally find jarring - but it doesn't mar the charm of the track on whole. So I kepted them.
Any which way... thanks to Gino for the kind words and the reality he always drops on his blog. My mixes are a personal expression of my musical miscegenation...
Sounds from the original Cyberspace... this radio programme sounds like it comes right out of Chiba City, Cargo Cult capital of the world. Kraut prog... shoegaze... a weird German Rush tribute band playing a cover of an Uncle Meat track with the Brecker Brothers... minimal African dubstep and deep new romantic synth folk.
Put your black gear on, boot up and jack right in. The ride's a bit bumpy... but the rhythms will rok you.
Sorry I'm so late. Had to do some production work on a friend's track. Took a bit of time. Add hectic work schedule and random life stuffs and I missed a day or two.
