Back in the gym after five years. Burn baby burn. Cover inspired by bad 90s rave flyers. If "Tirolein Leader" by THE ISLANDERS was the first track in this mix... it would be my favoritist obscure synth gem lately.
This new mix concentrates on organic electronica... whatever that means. From live versions of IDM songs to spaced out Afrobeat jammies, this mix is supposed to bridge some sort of gap in my head between the process and the experience.
I honestly don't really know what the fuck I'm saying... I just like it. Listos in commentos.
I've been neglecting my hip hop duties lately. Haven't even slowed too much up these days. I mix as the mood hits me, I don't feel guilty (well maybe a little.)
This is what I consider a hip hop mix. It doesn't matter that only 5 of the nine songs are truly rap songs. It's immaterial that it starts with swirly slow tempo house and has a Black Sabbath dub remix and rare groove break.
If I was paid to spin a hip hop set in a club it would sound like this. That's probably why I'm not invited to do so that much.
Still... this mix captures my nerdy fanboy status when it comes to Screw and Dub. I did my best to weave a sonic tapestry - using dubs to enhance certain sounds along the journey. I have to admit, I'm getting quite good at it. The simple template of the hip hop beat always allows for greater experimentation in the subtleties of dubdom.
Nattymari does not condone drug use... but my West Coast friends should light up the stickiest dankest headies they can muster up (and hope it kicks in by the two little phasers in the second song's chorus.)
This mix took a little reworking... but turned out pretty nice. A noisier mix than most --- but it totally reflects the period. I actually really digging my newer mixes. They are different enough to keep my attention. Every time I listen I seem to find something new.
Expect wicked cool Italian rock... J-Pop goes Curve... some really great outsider Glam and more. If you need to know - comments will reveal.
I think I did a good job an the retro cover too. Looks like a vintage 1982 minimal private press or library lp. Let's just say a nice package overall.
Just spent the better part of two days shovelling snow. IN that time, Google has decided to randomly delete music blogs left and right. Seems they are leaving some of the bigger offenders online. Guess money is changing hands.
I'm rather safe. I share no music leakage... only single track mixes. Still, I am wary of how stupidly these comapnies act upon information they get from Robocop. If anything were to happen, I'd find a way to share this self indulgence with the 8 people who care. So I urge you to become a fan on Facebook - so I can update you if I get TOS'sed.
This current mix was filled with mishaps. Computer glitches and crashed programs. It took way too long, but the outcome sound effortless. Kind of like the cleared walkways and streets where I live.
Once again... click title of mix to download. Some interesting trivia lies in comments.
Just moved into a really nice new apartment. Old school, wood floors. Sadly, Verizon doesn't seem to like the old house. My speed are creeping somewhere around 62kbps. Sucks. I have to get a new provider... so enjoy this mix. It took like 2 hours to upload!
In all honesty, I am really feeling this one. Dark and psychedelic... but enough beat to be bumpable.
Mooving woes and myopic foes. I was almost close to making this a music blog and telling you why I like songs I like. Silly me. From now on mixes will be here. In the comments I am going to lmake little lists of songs I like. The two, however suspicious, are probably completely unrelated.
A few robots, talentless mulattos and tired punk rockers masquerading as indie hipsters don't understand that this is a mix blog. Everything on here is one track - mixed and edited. There has never been a link to an album or mix that doesn't belong to me. There's plenty of that (search GOOGLE BLOG "insert album or artist name" "blogspot" and you'll find anything you want - just not here.) I have tried to provide tracklists so people know what music they are listening to in my mix - in order to promote music I like. Some people don't get this (and use computer scripts that absolutely CANNOT make a decision.)
That said - for now I will be providing "lists of music I listened to" in the comments.
